India’s First Orienteering Handbook Unveiled in Hindi and English!

A landmark moment for Indian sports took place at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi, during the National Sports Day celebrations on August 29, 2024.

The first-ever Orienteering Handbook in India, available in both Hindi and English, was unveiled to much fanfare.

This pivotal resource was launched by a distinguished panel including Mr. Jaroslav Kacmarcik, International Orienteering Federation Coordinator for Africa and the Indian Ocean; Mrs. and Mr. Bidhubhushan Nayak, Directors of Sparsh Healthcare Group; Ms. Giulia Zenere, Project Manager for Park World Tour, Sweden; Kishori Lal Azaad, ex-international hockey umpire; Kuldeep Singh Rao, former tennis ball cricket captain; Alok Kulshreshta, Founder of Sports India 13 Network; Vaibhav Pratap Singh of Baran Orienteering Club; Sanjeev Pandey, Chief Manager at State Bank of India, Mumbai; Om Prakash Gupta of Rishikesh Orienteering Club; Vinay Gupta, Anshul Khurana, and Mrs. Deepti Sisodia.

The unveiling of this bilingual handbook is a groundbreaking achievement, offering comprehensive guidance and insights for both seasoned athletes and newcomers to the sport. This initiative is set to significantly boost the popularity and accessibility of orienteering across India.
