Orienteering Clubs – Bhopal, Sri Ganganagar, and Meerut to Join Soon!
We’re thrilled to announce that the orienteering movement in India is gaining momentum! The Dhyan Chand Foundation is proud to welcome three new cities preparing to join the national orienteering family — Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan), and Meerut (Uttar Pradesh).
These vibrant cities, each with their unique sporting legacy and enthusiastic youth, are now gearing up to establish their own city-based orienteering clubs under the Foundation’s guidance. With this expansion, orienteering continues to reach deeper into India’s heartland, offering a dynamic, outdoor, and Olympic-recognized sport that blends strategy, endurance, and exploration.
What’s Next?
Each club will soon:
- Unveil its city-specific identity and logo
- Organize its Inaugural Orienteering Championship within two months of affiliation
- Conduct regular training camps and community events
- Participate in inter-city and national level challenges
As the Foundation supports their formation with training resources, map development, and event planning, the spirit of orienteering promises to take root strongly in schools, colleges, and communities across these cities.
Let’s extend a warm welcome to the upcoming Bhopal Orienteering Club, Sri Ganganagar Orienteering Club, and Meerut Orienteering Club. The journey of adventure, navigation, and sportsmanship continues to grow — one compass point at a time!
