Final Talks Underway! Major Dhyan Chand Hockey cup in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir

Exciting news from the valley! The Dhyan Chand Foundation – Jammu & Kashmir Chapter, under the leadership of President Shri Ravinder Pal Singh, is in the final stages of discussions to initiate the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Cup in Srinagar.

This historic tournament aims to bring back the spirit of hockey to the region and celebrate the legacy of the Wizard of Indian Hockey — Major Dhyan Chand. The proposed plan is to culminate the tournament with a grand final on August 29th, which marks both Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary and National Sports Day — a symbolic tribute to Indian sports and one of its greatest legends.

This effort reflects the Foundation’s mission to revive grassroots hockey, empower youth through sport, and expand the reach of hockey to every corner of India — from bustling metros to the breathtaking landscapes of Jammu & Kashmir.

Stay tuned for more updates as Srinagar prepares to become a proud host of this prestigious cup!
